Museveni Confirms Bid for Re-Election to Extend Rule into Fifth Decade

Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni has confirmed he will contest next year’s presidential election, aiming to extend his nearly 40-year rule. He pledged to transform Uganda into a $500bn economy within five years from the current GDP of under $66bn.
